- Degradation through raw material production

Question: Identify the effects of agro-industrialization and changes in international production and consumption on the physical environment.

Answer:

As population continues to increase around the world especially in South East Asian countries and India the world needs to find a new way to keep up with the population in terms of food production. Every living thing in our world is finite and therefore all the food supplies that we have is finite. It is very much possible that our world enters world war 3 due to scarcity of resources and crops. An anti-malthusian would say that our great and ever improving technology will help us in the future when it comes to feeding our growing population. In the past being a farmer in the agriculture business was a norm. However nowadays due to globalisation no one dreams to become a farmer and therefore people who want to work for agriculture decreased.

To solve the problem of trying to feed the world and keeping up with the ever growing population. Agro-industrialization is the process of having factory like farms in which huge amounts of space is used mainly for agriculture. Agro-industrialization has changed international production some of the developing nations have been agro-industrialized in which one of their biggest exports are in agriculture. For example the United States is known for maiz, while vietnam is known for rice. Nowadays we have genetically modified crops to increase yield numbers. Consumption world wide has definitely increased over the years and therefore agro-industrialization is a good thing because it would feed the growing population.
